Air Ride Solenoid Block

Air ride solenoid block is considered the heart of an air suspension system as it electronically controls the delivery of air into your vehicle's air struts/springs.air ride solenoid block If your air ride valve manifolds have become damaged, it will cause the air distribution to become erratic. Usually, you will notice that your vehicle lowers in one or more corners, but depending on the severity of the damage, it may affect a single side or all corners of your car.

Basically, your air suspension system is powered by an air compressor that fills up the air bellows in the air tanks (also called the air reservoir). Then the air bellows expand when the ECU activates an air management system to raise or lower the vehicle. This happens via an electrical circuit with a solenoid valve block that opens and closes when commanded by the computer. Those solenoids are integrated into the valve manifolds that are installed between the air compressor and each of your vehicles air bags. These solenoids open and close in order to fill or vent each air bag so that the overall air pressure is at the correct level in all four corners of your vehicle.

The inflate and deflate sides of the air valve manifolds will have corresponding ports labeled SUPPLY and DELIVERY respectively. It's important to note that the air tank's air pressure must be higher than the air pressure in your air springs for the inflate side to remain shut. Otherwise, the air would flow back into the tank and lower your air springs' height.

When the air valve manifolds are damaged, it will cause your vehicle to lose its air ride capability. This can be very frustrating for any driver and is easily fixed by replacing the damaged air suspension solenoid valve block.

There are many different manufacturers of air valve block but it's always a good idea to look for an affordable and quality product. The reputation of the maker should also be considered along with its warranty coverage.

Arnott has introduced economical replacement air suspension solenoid valve blocks for several Audi, Jeep and Mercedes-Benz applications. The new valve blocks are a direct replacement for the original air suspension solenoid valves and come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty in North America and the European Union. The part numbers for these air ride solenoid valve blocks are VB-3265 for the 01-05 Allroad Quattro, 05-11 A6 and S6 (C5/C6), 04-10 A8 and S8 (D3 chassis) and VB-3266 for the 11-18 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK2 chassis). They are available from select OE parts distributors or directly through the company's website.
